Log a payment
When you pay a card from your bank, tell Corte so it stops counting that amount as owed. Corte never moves money: Log payment only records what you did.
Log a payment from Today
Section titled “Log a payment from Today”- On Today, tap Log payment on the card.
- The sheet opens with the card, the amount still owed and today’s date already filled in. Change anything that’s different.
- Tap Log payment.
Corte saves the payment, closes the sheet and shows “Payment logged”. The card’s status and its group’s total update straight away. A payment that covers the whole balance turns the card to Paid.
The fields
Section titled “The fields”| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Card | Pick the card. Choosing another card fills in what that card owes. |
| Amount | Beside Date paid. What you paid, in the card’s currency (for example USD). Use your device’s number format. It must be more than zero. |
| Date paid | The day you paid. Tap it to open the calendar. It can be today or any day before, never a future day. |
| Paid from | Optional. Where the money came from, such as “Banco Atlas savings”. |
| Note | Optional. Anything you want to remember about the payment. |
| Apply to the statement due Oct 20 | On by default when the card has an unpaid statement. It counts the payment toward that statement. Turn it off to keep the payment on the card without tying it to a statement. |
On an iPhone or iPad, the date opens a picker: choose the day, then tap Done. On Android, the calendar closes when you choose a day.
Paying part of a balance
Section titled “Paying part of a balance”Log what you actually paid. If it’s less than what’s owed, the card shows Due Oct 20. $312.00 left, and shows Paid once the payments reach the balance.
Closing without saving
Section titled “Closing without saving”Tap Close to leave, or Cancel next to Log payment on a tablet or another wide window. If you’ve typed something, Corte asks “Discard this payment?” with Keep editing and Discard. Closing never records a payment.
If it can’t be saved
Section titled “If it can’t be saved”If Corte can’t reach the server, it says “Couldn’t log the payment. Check your connection and try again.” and keeps the sheet open with what you entered. Nothing is saved until the server confirms, so a payment never appears on Today unless it was really saved.
Questions
Section titled “Questions”Can I change or delete a payment? Yes. Open the card, tap Payments, then the payment. See Payments.
Does Corte pay my card? No. It only records your payments.
Do I have to log every payment? No. When your next statement arrives, Corte reads the payments it lists and counts them toward the statement before it. A payment you already logged with the same amount in that period is replaced by the bank’s, so it’s never counted twice.
I logged a payment without a statement. Which one does it count toward? If you leave the payment to Corte (from an assistant, for example), it counts toward the card’s latest statement dated on or before the day you paid.
