First run

The first time you sign in, with no cards, Corte walks you through four short steps. It shows them only once: after you finish, or leave them, signing in goes straight to Today.

Enter the Nickname, the Bank, the Last 4 digits if you want, the Currency and the Credit limit if you know it. Tap Currency to pick it from the list; it can’t be changed once the card has a statement. Tap Add card. The first statement fills in the cutoff and due dates.

Or start from a statement instead: under the form, Or start from a statement offers Upload a statement and, when your server has it, Forward statements. Corte reads the statement and adds the card from what it prints (see A card Corte added from a statement). Back on this step, a box says where it stands:

  • “Your card will appear once the statement is read.” while Corte reads it.
  • “Your statement is waiting in Review. Your card will appear once it is read.” when it needs a look.
  • “Corte added Banco Atlas 4821 from your statement.” once the card is there.

Tap Continue in the box to go on to step 2. This step can’t be skipped otherwise: the rest of Corte starts from a card, or a statement on its way.

Under Pay schedule, choose how often you are paid, check Next paydays, and tap Save paydays at the bottom, or tap Skip. This step sets one schedule; add more later in Paydays. See Paydays for every option. If you skip, Today groups your cards by due date, and you can set paydays later in Settings, then Paydays.

Corte reads cutoffs, due dates and balances from your statements. Pick one way now:

  • Forward statement emails: get a private address and forward your bank’s emails to it. This is shown only when your Corte server has forwarding. See Forward statements.
  • Upload a statement: a PDF or a saved email file. See Upload a statement.

Each opens over the step. When you come back, tap Continue, or Skip to do it later. The other ways are in Settings.

Corte offers to lock itself with Face ID, your fingerprint or your passcode, so your statements and balances stay out of sight on a shared or lost phone. Tap Lock it, confirm it’s you, and Corte locks after 5 minutes away. Or tap Not now. You can change this later in Settings, then Security: see Security.

If your device has no passcode, Corte says so and the button reads Done.

When you tap Lock it, Not now or Done, Corte opens Today. If it can’t finish, it says “Couldn’t finish the setup. Try again.”

Can I go back to a step? Not within the first run. Everything in it is also in Settings, or in the Cards tab.

What if I close the app in the middle? If you added a card, Corte opens Today next time. If you hadn’t, it starts again at step 1.

Does deleting all my data show the steps again? No. Corte remembers you finished them.
