Security

Security has the app lock. With it on, Corte asks for Face ID, your fingerprint or your device passcode when you open it, so your statements and balances stay out of sight on a shared or lost phone. To open it, tap Settings, then Security.

  1. Tap Settings, then Security.
  2. Turn on Lock Corte with Face ID. The wording follows your device: “with your fingerprint” or “with your passcode” if there is no Face ID.
  3. Your device asks you to confirm it’s you. Corte only turns the lock on after you do, so you can’t lock yourself out.
  4. Under Lock after, tap how long Corte can be away before it asks again: Right away, 1 minute away, 5 minutes away or 15 minutes away.

If the face or fingerprint isn’t read, your device passcode opens Corte: “Falls back to your passcode.”

  • Corte asks when you open it, and when you come back after longer away than Lock after.
  • While locked, Corte shows only its mark and name, with Unlock at the bottom. If you cancel the prompt, tap Unlock to try again.
  • Your place in the app and what you were typing are kept while it is locked.
  • When you switch apps, Corte covers its screen, so a balance doesn’t show in the app switcher.

If your device has no passcode and no Face ID or fingerprint set up, the switch is off and the screen says “Set up a passcode or Face ID in your device’s settings to lock Corte.” Set one up in your device’s settings, then come back.

If your device can’t confirm it’s you, Corte says “Couldn’t confirm it’s you, so the lock wasn’t turned on.”

Is the lock saved in my account? No. It belongs to this device. Signing out removes it, and another device has its own.

What if I forget my device passcode? The lock uses your device’s own passcode. Reset it as your device explains. If you can’t open Corte, signing in again on the device removes the lock.

Does the lock hide my data from Corte’s server? No. The lock protects the app on this device. See Account for what happens to your data.
