AI parsing

Corte reads the statements of the banks it knows by itself. When a bank changes its layout, or you add a statement from a bank Corte doesn’t know yet, an AI provider can read it instead. The provider is chosen by whoever runs your Corte server. AI parsing is where you say when that may happen.

To open it, tap Settings, then AI parsing. The row shows your current choice.

Under When a layout is new:

  • Ask first (the default): Corte asks you each time before a statement is sent to the AI provider.
  • Always allow: statements in new layouts are read with AI right away. You still confirm the figures in Review.
  • Never: statements in a new layout go to Review, for you to enter.

Tap a choice to change it. If the change can’t be saved, Corte says “Couldn’t save this setting. Try again.”

Only the statement in the new layout is sent. Your other statements, transactions and account details are not. Before it is sent, Corte hides merchant names, emails, phone numbers and account and card numbers (it keeps the last four digits of a card), and your own name. It can’t always find the names and addresses of other people, so those may still appear.

If your server has no AI provider, the screen says “AI parsing isn’t set up on this server. New layouts go to Review.”

With Ask first, a statement in a new layout appears in Review with “This statement’s layout is new. Corte can use AI to read it.” Open it and tap Allow once. A sheet opens, titled “This statement’s layout is new. Let Corte use AI to read it?”:

Only statements in new layouts are sent to the provider. Nothing else. Figures read by AI go to Review for you to confirm.

Under it, Corte names the file and, when it knows it, the bank, such as “volcan-sep.pdf · Banco Volcán”.

  • Allow once: Corte sends this one statement. You’ll find the result in Review, to confirm.
  • Always allow: the same, and Always allow is saved as your choice.
  • Not now: nothing is sent. The statement stays in Review, and Corte asks again next time.

To close the sheet without choosing, tap Not now, swipe it down on iPhone and iPad, or go back on Android. Without AI, the statement stays in Review for you to enter by hand.

Corte limits how many statements can be sent to AI each day, per person, and each month, for everyone on the server. When a limit is reached, the statement says “The AI limit was reached. Try again later.”

Does Corte learn from my statement? Yes, but only the shape of the layout: its labels and column headings, never your figures or names. The next statement in that layout is read without AI, and without asking you.
