Notifications

Corte can tell you when a payday is coming, when a card is due or overdue, when a new statement is read, and when something waits in Review. You choose which notifications you get, when they arrive and how: as a notification on your phone, by email, or both. To open them, tap Settings, then Notifications.

  1. Tap Turn on notifications. Your phone asks for permission next.
  2. Allow notifications. Corte adds three to start with:
    • 3 days before each payday, at 9:00
    • 2 days before each due date, at 9:00
    • When a card is overdue, at 9:00, once a day up to 3 times

They are ordinary notifications: change, switch off or delete any of them.

If you said no to your phone’s question, Corte says “Notifications are off for Corte in your phone’s settings.” Tap Open settings and allow them there. Corte never asks twice.

On another phone signed in to the same account, tap Get them on this phone.

Each one is described in plain words, such as “2 days before each due date, 9:00 AM, by push”, with when the next one arrives (“Next Sun Oct 18, 9:00 AM”), or “Only if it happens” for an overdue card or a new statement. The switch beside it turns it on or off.

Tap one to change it, or Add notification for a new one.

  1. For a new one, choose under When: Before each payday, Before each due date, When a card is overdue, When a statement is read or When something needs a review.
  2. Set Days before (or Days after the due date for an overdue card) with − and +. “On the day” is 0.
  3. Tap Time to choose when it arrives. A new statement is announced at once instead.
  4. For an overdue card, set Times in all and, when more than once, Days between.
  5. Under Cards, keep All cards or choose one.
  6. Under Send by, turn on Push, Email or both. With both, Email only if the push can’t be delivered sends the email only when no phone got the notification.
  7. Tap Save notification.

Once saved, the box under the channels shows when the next one arrives and exactly what it will say. Send test notification sends a test now to your phones and your email, as the notification would go. Delete notification removes it, after asking.

  • Quiet hours: turn on Quiet hours and set From and To. A notification due inside them arrives when they end. It is never dropped.
  • Pause: turn on Pause and choose Until. Nothing is sent until that day has passed.
  • Hide amounts on the lock screen is on to start with: notifications say “Pay on Oct 15” instead of “Pay $412.00 on Oct 15”. Turn it off to see amounts.
  • A card you muted in Edit a card gets no notifications.
  • A reminder to pay is not sent for a statement that is already paid.
  • If Corte was down when a notification was due, it is still sent later that day. After that day it is skipped, and the Log says so.

Notifications use the Time zone shown at the bottom, from your phone.

Tap a notification to open the card, Review or Today. A reminder to pay has two buttons:

  • Mark as paid logs a payment of what the statement still asks for, dated today. Your phone must be unlocked. Today shows “Payment logged” with Undo. For several cards at once, it opens Today instead.
  • Remind me tomorrow sends the same notification again at the same time tomorrow, once.

Why didn’t I get a notification? Check that it is switched on, that notifications aren’t paused, that the card isn’t muted and the statement isn’t paid, and that your phone allows Corte’s notifications. The Log lists every notification that was sent, skipped or failed, and why.

Why can’t I choose email? Email isn’t set up on the server. Notifications on your phone still work.

Do notifications show my balances? Not unless you turn off Hide amounts on the lock screen.
